Welcome to the Birmingham Area Mothers of Multiples (BAMOM) support organization founded November 7, 1978 in Birmingham, Alabama. Topics of the meetings range from professional speakers, adult twin's panel, to an auction. This is a great opportunity to meet women who have many things in common with you.
We have a range of opportunity where one can become involved with the club. There is a birthday gift for members who attend a meeting the same month of their birthday. Mom's Night Out is a fun way to get out of the house and spend time with other moms at a restaurant, movie, comedy club, or any suggested place. The New and Expectant Mom's Coffee is usually held at a member's home and topics of discussion include sleepless nights to managing two or more at a time. Toddler Time and Playgroups, for older children, are held at a park, member's home, library, or any appropriate, fun place. The club also offers four family socials a year, Easter, summer, fall, and Christmas.
Some BAMOM members attend the Marvelous Multiples class at Brookwood or St Vincent's. These members represent the club and answer questions for the class participants. Other members attend the UAB Outreach program and work closely with the social worker and expectant mothers of multiples to discuss topic of raising multiples.
As a paid member you will receive our monthly newsletter, which is a great source of information. The newsletter includes information about meetings, playgroups, Toddler Time, New Mom's Coffee, socials, recipes, Mom's Night Out, prayer requests, poems, tips, and more. Membership also includes the opportunity to buy and sell at the biannual "Twice as Nice" garage sale. It is held in the spring and fall involving more than 100 sellers.
As you can very well see, there are endless ways to become involved in the club and learn from other members who have very similar experiences. We would love to have you visit a meeting or any planned activity. |
